CET Mediterranean Studies in Sicily

  Italy
  • Sicily:
  • Catania

Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring, Summer
Dates: Spring - early February to late May, Summer - early June to late July, Fall - early September to late December

Description: New in 2008, this semester and summer program offers students the opportunity to delve into Mediterranean Studies as well as to become immersed in contemporary Italian society. CET in Catania is perfect for students interested in art history, classical studies, archeology, history, politics, philosophy and of course, Italian studies, including Italian literature, culture and language.

The program is based in Catania, an ancient, medieval and Baroque city that is off-the-beaten-path from many study abroad programs. Catania is an optimal site for a study abroad experience thanks to its tropical weather, extensive university resources and close proximity to other towns on the island and mainland. This program is ideal for students interested in taking Italian language and elective courses while also exploring Sicily's unique position as a crossroads of different Mediterranean cultures throughout ancient history and beyond.
