Term: Summer
Dates: Mid-June to end July

Description: The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University can help you achieve an incomparable study abroad experience. This six-week program offers a selection of courses in Spanish language, literature, history and politics, ethnology, and art history. You will study at the Fundacion Jose Ortega y Gasset, located in the beautiful, historic city of Toledo, which is one hour south of Madrid. Your coursework will be enhanced by the wealth of historical and cultural resources available in Toledo, Madrid, and the surrounding region.

You'll be able to enroll in two or three, three-credit courses, for a total of 69 credits. Because daily use of spoken Spanish is emphasized across the program and all courses are taught in Spanish, minimum admissions qualifications require that you have completed at least two semesters of post-secondary level Spanish.

To give you the opportunity to learn as much as possible about Spanish history and culture, all of the courses incorporate these themes. You'll find offerings in such areas as Spanish language, literature, history and politics, ethnology, and art history.

Compelling and thought-provoking courses offered during past summers have included 20th Century Spanish Literature, Master Painters of Spain, the Cultural Heritage of Spain, and the Ethnology and Folklore of the Iberian Peninsula. In addition, if you want to advance and/or refine your Spanish language skills, the Fundación offers intermediate- and advanced-level Spanish language courses.
