Abroadco's study abroad program in Rome allows students to study Italian language at all levels, Italian culture, as well as take electives in English alongside Italian students at the University of Malta Link Campus Rome. You will live and study in Rome, the cradle of western civilization and home to some of the finest culture and art in the world. Academics Students will earn 15 credits for semester sessions and 6 credits for the summer session. During the semester, students will spend a month taking two intensive courses in language and culture. Following this, students can choose three electives taught in English from art history, business, communications, international relations, Italian, and political science. These are regular university courses so Abroadco students will be enrolled in the same courses with Italian students. Students on the six-week summer program will take two courses in Italian Language and Italian Culture. Transcripts are issued by the University of Malta Link Campus Rome, an accredited university in Malta and Italy. We help you with every aspect of planning your experience, including course selection, travel planning, working with your home institution, and providing you with an orientation on living and studying abroad. When you arrive in Rome, our resident director will greet you at the airport and provide onsite orientation during the first few days of your stay. Throughout your program, you'll enjoy Abroadco's many activities and excursions. Activities include going to an opera or ballet, visiting the Vatican museums, and enjoying traditional Roman cuisine. Excursions visit such destinations as Florence, Tivoli, Venice, Naples and Pompeii. Once your program has ended, we will continue to work with you as you transfer your credits to your home institution and readjust to life at home. Housing and Meals Abroadco apartments in Rome are centrally located within easy distance to school, shops, and attractions. Apartments are equipped with fully-equipped kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, and communal living space. Students may cook for themselves at home or eat at the many trattorias and pizzerias around the city. Rome The city's significant history and culture transform Rome into an open air classroom. Rome is Italy's largest city, but with its neighborhoods it feels smaller. Scholarships are Available. Abroadco has established a scholarship program for deserving Abroadco participants. Awards for a program typically range from $300 to $600, depending on the length of the program. To be eligible for an Abroadco Scholarship, students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, be accepted into an Abroadco program and enrolled as an undergraduate university student. The scholarship application consists of the application, an essay, and an official transcript. Scholarship deadlines for Fall - April 1, for Spring - October 1, and for Summer - February 1.
In addition to scholarships, students from many U.S. academic institutions are allowed to transfer their financial aid when studying abroad. Abroadco will work with students and academic institutions to facilitate this process.
