Abroadco's study abroad program in Aix-en-Provence allows students to choose to focus on French language and culture or French with electives in English. Students of all language levels to study French language and culture at the University Paul Cézanne Aix-Marseille III. Students who need electives taught in English can study at the Institute for American Universities - the Aix Center and the Marshutz School (art). You will live and go to school in the heart of Provence. Academics While studying French language at the University of Aix-Marseille III, students are placed in one of four different language levels. Semester students will take French classes, along with electives to supplement their language study, focusing on French language, literature, history, civilization, economics, art, and business. Semester students can earn up to 18 hours and summer students can earn up to 5 hours of credit. As a student of the University of Aix-Marseille III, you will earn an official transcript at the end of your studies. As a student at the Aix Center and/or Marshutz School, students are required to take a French language course during the semester, although it is not required in the summer program. Students will then select 4 electives in taught in English or French. The courses focus on archeology, art, art history, business, communication, economics, education, French, history, literature, music, philosophy, photography, political science, and psychology. We help you with every aspect of planning your experience, including course selection, travel planning, working with your home institution, and providing you with an orientation on living and studying abroad. When you arrive in Aix, our resident director will greet you at the airport and provide onsite orientation during the first few days of your stay. Throughout your program, you'll enjoy Abroadco's many activities and excursions. Activities include visiting museums in Aix, exploring the street markets, and sampling Provençal cooking at one of the many cafes. Excursions visit such destinations as Avignon, Gorges du Verdon, the Côte d'Azur, Arles, and the Camargue. Once your program has ended, we will continue to work with you as you transfer your credits to your home institution and readjust to life at home. Scholarships are Available. Abroadco has established a scholarship program for deserving Abroadco participants. Awards for a program typically range from 3,250 USD to 500 USD, depending on the length of the program. To be eligible for an Abroadco Scholarship, students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, be accepted into an Abroadco program and enrolled as an undergraduate university student. The scholarship application consists of the application, an essay, and an official transcript. Scholarship deadlines for Fall - May 1, for Spring - November 1, and for Summer - April 1.
In addition to scholarships, students from many U.S. academic institutions are allowed to transfer their financial aid when studying abroad. Abroadco will work with students and academic institutions to facilitate this process.
