ACICIS was established as a non-profit organisation in 1994 to develop and coordinate high-quality, semester-long study programs for foreign students at Indonesian partner universities. Hosted by Murdoch University, in Australia, ACICIS includes as members most of Australia's leading institutions in the field of Indonesian studies. National collaboration enables ACICIS to draw on expertise across all Australian universities and maximise efficiency in organising in-country study. ACICIS is now a world-leader in providing safe and easy access for foreigners (not just Australians) to study at Indonesian partner institutions. A range of study options is available in Indonesia and a unique in-country support network for students is also set up to assist those wishing to live and study in Indonesia. So far, more than 750 students have experienced Indonesia through the ACICIS program. All applicants from beginners to advanced are welcome.
Highlights:
Program options include Intensive Language study from beginners to advanced level; curriculum immersion for study in regular university subjects alongside Indonesian students; an arts program for fine arts study, including traditional and contemporary subjects such as gamelan and dance; an Islamic Business study option taken in English language; the opportunity to conduct field research as part of the field study option in East Java; and a journalism internship in the bustling media sector of the capital, Jakarta.
