France: French Language from Beginning to Advanced, French Culture, Art, Literature and Psychology
France
Term: Summer
Dates: May 29 to July 1
Description:
The Kentucky Institute for International Studies program in France offers Paris as its classroom, with a selection of courses designed to take full advantage of the abundant cultural resources provided by the city's artistic treasures, intriguing history, and respected literary traditions. With its reputation for good tase, fine cuisine, high fashion, and legendary sports, Paris has something for everyone. With five weeks in Paris, students will have the time to become familiar with this modern, animated city, so well known for setting trends while upholding established traditions. The five weeks in Paris have been planned to give KIIS students a balance between structured time for classes and program activities and unstructured time for study, for completing group projects, and for the pursuit of individual interests. Both during class and outside of class, there will be many chances for gaining cultural insights and developing personal friendships.
Highlights:
During the KIIS program in France, there will not only be time for exploring the major attractions in Paris but also time to discover for oneself its less frequented out-of-the-way spots. Instead of racing to taste hurriedly of the countless Parisian delights that will be available, program participants can savor those irresistible moments that are far too rich to be enjoyed at a tourist's pace. The entire length of the program will be spent in Paris, the capital of France and the center of the political, economic, and cultural life of the country. A Carte Orange metro/bus pass facilitates transportation within the city, allowing each student unlimited opportunities for personalizing the "adventure."
