Description:
Located in the heart of Tuscany, this medieval city clearly stands as a cultural, historical, and academic center in Italy. With a population of roughly 380,000 people, Florence is a city vast in area but effortlessly maintains its small town charm. In this truly efficient city, you will find that you are able to walk to any major area in roughly twenty minutes. The Vespucci airport and the Florence train station are both easily accessible and allow individuals to travel throughout Italy and Europe whenever they wish. With the rolling waters of the Arno River bisecting the city, each terracotta rooftop and cobblestone street tells a story by blending the old city's traditional structures with modern shops, designer boutiques, and art galleries. Leather goods, olive oil, ceramics, wine, and stationery are just some of the products that Florence is famous for producing. Around every corner of this enchanting city, you will be able to discover Italian culture at its finest.
Highlights:
* Academic Credits: Please refer to the ISA website for detailed credit information. * Tuition: Includes all tuition at Kent State University in Florence. All classes are taught by faculty from the host university. * Resident Director: The ISA Resident Director is available to assist students with all aspects of their study abroad experience. * Tutoring: Students can receive up to 2 hours of tutoring each weekday. * Excursions: Please visit the ISA website for excursion locations. Ground transportation and entrance fees are included on all excursions. Hotel accommodations and breakfast are included on all overnight excursions. * Housing: Students will live in shared double rooms in furnished apartments near the university. * Medical Insurance: Medical insurance is provided for the official period of the program. Medical insurance extensions are also available for an additional cost. * Cultural Activities: The ISA Resident Director will arrange cultural activities throughout the program. * Internet access: Students will have computer/internet access at Kent State University in Florence.
