Description:
This program is open to students, faculty, staff, retirees, and community members. Academic credit is available for students. In addition to participating in the tours and visits, students will be required to take two exams and write one term paper as well as keep an experience diary.
Highlights:
The tour in Beijing includes the Great Wall, the exquisite Imperial Palace, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, a cruise on scenic Lake Kunming, Ming Tombs, and a tour of Beijing's ancient narrow street known as Hutongs via old-fashioned pedicab. A full-day tour of the famed terracotta warrior and Shaanxi Provincial Historial Museum in Xi-an. Sightseeing in Shanghai includes Nanjing Road, the bund, the old quarter, the Jade Buddha Temple, the Shanghai Museum, and the world-renowned acrobatic show. The Hong Kong visit includes Stanley Market, the beaches of Republic Bay, Aberden's Sampan Colony, and a ride up to Victoria Peak for a panoramic city view.
