The Studio Arts program offers coursework in graphic design or painting in the historically rich artistic center of Venice, Italy. Italian and international students interact in the same classes and visiting artists enrich the creative atmosphere. Every effort is made to integrate the artistic traditions and resources of Venice into the courses. Classes are taught by internationally recognized instructors and visiting artists from all over the world. In addition to regular class meetings, students have access to the studios to work independently or with assistants. Field trips to neighboring cities and visits to local museums, galleries and art sites complement the curriculum. Upon successful completion of a semester, students earn 18 Boston University credits.

The Boston University Studio Arts program at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica offers course work in graphic design or painting in a city whose museums, plazas, and canals form a truly unique classroom: Venice. Italian and international students interact in the same classes and visiting artists and instructors enrich the creative atmosphere. Every effort is made to integrate the artistic traditions and resources of Venice into the courses. In addition to regular class meetings, students have access to the studios to work independently or with assistants. Field trips to neighboring cities and visits to local museums, galleries and art sites complement the curriculum. Upon successful completion of a semester, students earn 18 Boston University credits. Scuola Internazionale DI Grafica The Scuola Internazionale DI Grafica brings together an international community of artists, teachers and students in an exchange of technical and critical ideas in the fine and graphic arts. The Scuola offers courses in printmaking, book arts, drawing, painting and graphic design and is dedicated to educating young artists and designers in both established and experimental media. The Scuola provides a fully equipped print workshop, two painting and drawing studios and a computer room. For students in the Graphic Design track, the Scuola provides 10 iMacs, a digital camera, a CD-ROM masterizer, two scanners, and printers. Students use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkX Press and Claris Home Page to complete their course-related projects. For students in the Painting track, Venice represents the ideal. The Venetian tradition of light can be fully experienced using the city as a resource. Facilities are ventilated and equipped for all painting and drawing media. Each year the Scuola Internazionale DI Grafica invites international artists to the school to guest lecture and work closely with students. The teachers and artists add to the school's international flavor and have come from such countries as Germany, the United States, England, France, Brazil, Bosnia and Italy. Program participants are also able to meet other international students from such countries as Spain, Mexico, Croatia, Germany, France and Italy.
