Enjoy German and Cultural Immersion in Hamburg

  Germany
    Hamburg

Term: Throughout the year
Dates: Start every Monday, all year round.

Description: Our school was founded in 1952 is located in the center of town in Colonnaden - a quiet pedestrian zone which has many cafes, shops, boutiques, etc.

The school is a officially recognized as a further education provider by Weiterbildung Hamburg e.V. which guarantees high teaching standards.

Facilities include: 70 classrooms, social area, reception and also offers a specialist language bookstore where modern course materials and foreign language literature are available.

Our programs cater for all language levels from absolute beginners to the more advanced, include the use of course materials and provide a variety of options to enhance your program. The minimum course duration is one week and even with this short stay you are assured a maximum of 12 students per class (with classes average 7 students).

Each student will be expected to take a short oral/written placement test on the first Monday morning of the course (unless a complete beginner), to determine the students language level and ensure placement in the correct class.

Lessons are usually held in the mornings, Monday - Friday 8:50-1:00 or Monday- Friday 1:30-5:45.

Host Family: (private room) with breakfast or 2 meals daily.

Highlights: Hamburg is Germany's second largest city and lies on the Elbe River, for centuries a major port and trading center for central Europe.

The city has a network of canals that rival those of Venice (it is said to have more bridges than Venice) and is centered on two artificial lakes that take up eight percent of its total area.

Hamburg is known as Germany's 'green city', sporting 1,400 parks and gardens. Modern buildings sit cheek by jowl with historic Baroque and Renaissance architecture, and by night the neon lights dazzle all-night revelers, particularly in the city's notorious red light district, the Reeperbahn.
