Highlights:
Located about 400km from the Gulf of St.Lawrence, Québec is one of the world's most picturesque cities and is the capital of the province of Quebec. The city is rich in history and tradition and has a European flavor. You will enjoy the narrow cobblestoned streets, boutiques, excellent restaurants, typical street cafes and shaded squares emphasize the European air of the 'Upper Town'. In the 'Lower Town', the network of 17th-century streets centered on Place Royale has recently been restored. Quebec is the only North American city, north of Mexico, to have maintained its fortifications. With its old city walls, the characteristic green copper roofs and fortified Citadel, UNESCO declared the provincial capital a World Heritage site in 1985. It is the cradle of French culture in Canada with a 95% French-speaking population. In addition to the Old World charm of the capital city of La Belle Province, Quebec also bills itself as the World's Snow Capital in the Winter months.
