With London as its focal point, this intensive four-week summer course looks beyond the art to its social and historical context of the Georgian and Victorian period. As the Industrial Revolution, international exhibitions and global trade brought new ideas, materials and technologies to London, the course considers their impact on art and design which is apparent in the city from its town houses to its department stores.
