Description:
Students have the unique opportunity to enroll in one of two eight-week courses of study in Portuguese language and culture. The courses, Elementary Portuguese for Romance Language Speakers and Intermediate Portuguese/Introduction to Brazil will be led by Yale faculty. Students take the first two weeks of the courses in New Haven and take the last six weeks in Brazil. In addition to two weeks in Paraty during the International Literary Festival, students will spend a month with home stays in Rio de Janeiro as part of the program. Students are responsible for all travel expenses to and from Paraty, costs of room and board in New Haven, and all other expenses beyond tuition. Application deadline: April 1. Enrollment limited.
