University Profile
Founded in 1963, The Chinese University of Hong Kong offers close to 300 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes through eight faculties / schools, namely, Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science and Social Science. It is the only tertiary institution with a collegiate system in Hong Kong and its four constituent colleges are: New Asia, Chung Chi, United and Shaw. Students benefit from the student-orientated education offered by the Colleges. The University currently has an enrolment of over 19,000 students. Among them, a culturally diverse student body, including over 10,000 undergraduates, is from more than 23 countries including Mainland China. Flexible curriculum structure, based on a credit unit system plus a strong offering in general education and language teaching, is a characteristic of its programmes.
