Description: Located in a beautiful valley and surrounded by snow-capped peaks of the Andes, Quito is surprisingly friendlier and safer feeling than other large Latin American cities. Furthermore, Quito has kept its colonial charm in spite of growing to a size of 1.4 million. Situated at 9,000 feet above sea level, the temperature averages 60-70 degrees (F) during the day and 40-50 degrees during the night. It is easy to reach most parts of the country in less than a day from Quito.

AmeriSpan has evaluated hundreds of schools, host families and destinations to determine which programs to offer. Our independence allows us to give you unbiased evaluations of the programs. We do not just list what is included, rather, we clearly state our opinions. Each program description contains a program review that describes what we like and what we don't like about the program.
