This Study Abroad program for Criminal Justice Sciences students is located in Chennai, India, formerly known as Madras. This is an opportunity for students to experience the culture of India while observing India's criminal justice system. Participants will gain knowledge of India's family structure, economic system, religious practices, and politics which shape the justice system. They will also meet with various government officials, supreme court judges, criminal justice practitioners, and university faculty and students. Two professors from the ISU Criminal Justice Sciences department will accompany students and will coordinate all site visits and field trips as well as teaching many of the lectures during the program.
Highlights:
The bulk of the program will be based on students' attendance at seminars and workshops specifically designed by the faculty from the Department of Criminal Justice Sciences at ISU and the faculty members at the University of Madras. Students will enroll in CJS courses at ISU.
