Description:
Pre-session: Students have a day of orientation at the beginning of the program. Required: There is one required course, Directed Study for 2 credits. For this course students are required. Complete a reading assignment on Mexico prior to departure and keep a journal in Oaxaca. Students must take a minimum of five credits and a maximum of eight. Optional: Other courses usually offered include 3rd and 4th year Spanish Conversation and Composition (225, 226, 311, 312 for 3 credits), Spanish American Short Story (461), and Spanish American Civilization (363). Spanish 225 and 226 can be taken at the same time. Types of courses avail: Spanish language, literature and civilization.
Highlights:
Oaxaca with a population of 500,000 is a thriving capital city in the southeast corner of Mexico. Any description of Oaxaca pales in comparison to the sights, smell, and sounds of the real thing. Beautifully restored 16th century building n pastel hues line the city's streets.
