Pablo de Olavide University is a state-run institution founded in 1997. Its mission is to educate the men and women of tomorrow through a strong academic program, innovative research, and a highly educated faculty. Taking full advantage of its resources and structure, it offers meaningful solutions to the scientific, technical and cultural challenges society faces today. Located on a beautiful 345 acre campus about 5 miles from Seville, the University is easily accessible by public transportation (a 15-20 minute bus ride from Seville's city center) In addition to the many classroom buildings, a library, computer laboratories, a cafe and a cafeteria, the campus contains sports facilities and outdoor playing fields. Due to its commitment to Latin American studies, the University also has a special arrangement with the "Archivo de Indias" and the "Escuela de Estudios Hispano-Americanos" whereby its students are able to obtain access to these important archives and library collections. The city of Seville provides a wealth of opportunities for extra curricular activities including theater, concerts, and a variety of museums.
