Students live and study in Stellenbosch, a unique setting blending Dutch traditions with modern South African culture, all within a Mediterranean-like climate containing stunning natural features. The university has over 100 departments, make it is easy to see why Stellenbosch is an internationally recognized university. Courses are available in: Art, business, biology, ecology, economics, geology, law, media, music, political science, history, anthropology, sociology, and theater. The historic town of Stellenbosch is situated close to Cape Town and surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery. Stroll around and admire the historical and architectural heritage, hike the Panorama and Swartboskloof Trail, discover the oldest wine-region in the southern hemisphere or ride thirty minutes to spend a day at the beach near Cape Town.
