Description:
Spend your summer in Greece with Prof. Theodore Kariotis in 2010. Study the economy of Greece in the 21st century and investigate the countrys role in the European Union. Students will become familiar with problems that arise in the running of an economy examining current and future domestic challenges through case studies based on the Greek experience. Housing is in modest, clean hotels, with students sharing rooms with one or more classmates. The course is open to all interested parties but must be taken for credit. Attendance at all lectures and site visits is mandatory. Students will receive a reading list and suggestions about useful and informative websites to review before departure. Assessment will be based on an oral presentation, a travel journal, and a final examination.
Highlights:
The program is based in Athens the cultural, industrial and political center of Greece. Ancient Athens is considered by many to be the fountainhead of Western civilization. The program includes excursions to major archaeological sites in Olympia, Delphi, Mycenae, Meteora, and Patra. Highlights include visits to the Acropolis, the Palace of Mycenae, Epidaurus and a day-trip island boat cruise.

Cost Include Description:
Cost includes academic credit (3 credits), health insurance, housing, daily breakfast and some meals, roundtrip airfare, and excursions. Additional costs include USD 150 study abroad fee, all other meals, and personal expenses.
