CIS - Study Abroad at the University of Newcastle
Australia
- New South Wales:
Newcastle
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring
Dates: Fall: mid-July to late November; Spring: late February to late June
Description:
The University of Newcastle offers international students the perfect combination of lifestyle and learning. Set in superb bush land (wooded land) and close to spectacular beaches, waterways and forests, the campuses of the University are well known for their academic excellence and innovative teaching. Callaghan, the larger of the two main campuses and where the majority of students study, lies about 4 miles from the center of the city of Newcastle on 300 acres of beautiful natural bush land - a site that has gained international recognition for practicing ecologically sustainable principles.
Highlights:
As a study abroad student you will have the flexibility to custom design a study abroad program from a variety of disciplines. A semester comprises 14 weeks at Newcastle and students will normally take between 30 - 40 credit points per semester (3-4 classes). Classes, or subjects as they are called, are generally worth 10 or 20 contact points and meet on average about 4 hours per week.
