South Korea
Term: Summer
Dates: July
Description:
Every summer, the university sponsors the Bahrom International Program, a four-week program which is open to students from abroad who are interested in cultivating a deeper understanding of the Korean culture, language and people. The program encompasses a host of lectures that cover a broad range of subjects such as Korean contemporary Issues, Korean art, Korean film, Korean economics, etc. The language of instruction for all lectures is English. In addition to the daily lectures, participants will also be afforded the opportunity to foster personal relationships with the Korean people through a weekend "homestay" program and a "partnering" system, whereby each participant is housed with an English-speaking Korean student currently studying at the university. Students are also provided with ample opportunity to gain a more thorough insight into the Korean culture and landscape through numerous group excursions to places of interest both in Seoul and surrounding areas, special cultural events, group presentations and projects, and parties. Participants will be able to earn a total of four credit hours for the four-week program.
