Guatemala
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring
Dates: July - Nov and Jan - June
Description:
The Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, founded in 1966, was created to provide the higher-order thinking skills, technical preparation, research training, social and environmental awareness, and educational leadership essential to the holistic growth of Guatemala. Its origins are with the American School of Guatemala, which has functioned as a laboratory school in Guatemala since 1948. Through 1976, the Universidad operated within buildings of the American School of Guatemala, a school founded in 1945 . In February of 1977, newly constructed laboratory facilities and a library were created for specific use by the Universidad. Today, the campus is comprised of many contemporary structures that give a complete residential campus structure to the Universidad. Campus resources, like library services, computer facilities and laboratories and equipment are found throughout the campus and are available for student use. Note: This is not a language immersion program. Spanish as a second language courses are not available.
