Summer is the perfect time to try something new and challenging. IFSA-Butler can help you find the ideal overseas environment: one that challenges you to make new discoveries, meet new friends, and explore outstanding academics that earn you American transfer credit. All of our summer programs are based in an overseas university and taught by regular university staff, so we can assure the high quality of our programs. While summer courses are open to British students, the majority of participants are from America.
Highlights:
IFSA-Butler offers four summer study programs in England, held at the Middlesex University, the University of Sussex, the University of Westminster and St. Peter's College at Oxford University. Summer courses at Middlesex University are taught at beautiful Trent Park Campus on the north side of London, the most "collegiate" of all the Middlesex University sites. Known for its dance, drama and theatre studies courses, Trent Park has professional facilities and equipment for practical work, including three dance studios and two large performance spaces. The International Summer School at the University of Sussex has an excellent range of social and academic facilities and allows you to study with people from different cultures on a cosmopolitan campus. This program is for study abroad students, so you will study with American and other international students rather than British students. The University of Westminster is located in central London near the busy theatre districts. Most Westminster facilities are in a compact area just north of Oxford Circus, but shopping, museums, libraries and galleries are just a short walk away. Westminster's program is designed especially for study abroad students, so you'll study with other Americans rather than with British students. Oxford University is one of the most prestigious universities in the world. If you are passionate about your studies and crave an intellectual challenge, Oxford could be the ideal place for you to spend the summer. The summer program is based at St. Peter's College in the heart of Oxford, close to libraries, museums, theatres and shops. This friendly college provides a wonderful base from which to sample the academic and cultural wonders of Oxford. The St. Peter's College summer school is designed especially for study abroad students, so you'll share your lectures and tutorials with other North American or North-American based students.
