Pacific Islands Studies

Dates: February-June; July-November

Description: The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Fiji Program, located at the University of the South Pacific (USP), is designed to provide students with a unique living and learning experience.

Students are able to take a wide variety of courses including: Conservation Biology, Environmental and Marine Microbiology, Biodiversity and Conservation, Ocean Resources Management in the South Pacific, Law of the Sea, Pacific Geoscience, Politics in the Pacific Rim, and Tourism in the South Pacific .

Based at the main USP campus in Suva, the program will also provide students with an immersion into Fijian life and culture. In addition to courses offered at USP, students will take the Introduction to Pacific Studies and Cross-Cultural Understanding courses. All coursework is conducted in English and taken alongside local students. Academic Field Trips are also included in the cost of the program.
