Description: The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Rome Program, located at The American University of Rome (AUR), is designed to provide students with an unique living and learning experience in "The Eternal City."

Students may participate for one semester or for a full academic year.

All study abroad students take 12 to 16 credits, including one course in Italian language, which is offered at all levels, from beginning through advanced. No previous knowledge of Italian is required, and the language of instruction is English or Italian depending on the student's proficiency. The university offers course work in Italian Language and Literature, Art History, Communications/Media Studies/Cinema, History, Political Science/International Relations, and International Business.

AUR combines the best of two worlds, focusing on the strengths of American expertise in technology and career preparation, while providing the opportunity to discover the great European and Italian traditions of the humanities and the arts.

Highlights: Courses in English and Italian. Field trips and cultural visits. US American style education system.

Cost in US$: $8250 - $8850

Not included in the above cost is airfare, room (approx. $4,655), board (approx. $1,500), and spending money. Optional weekend field trips will be available at an additional cost. In addition, textbooks will have to be purchased out-of-pocket.

The Institute for Study Abroad Programs adheres to the NAFSA: AIE Code of Ethics and Statements of Principles in International Educational Exchange and also supports the "Responsible Study Abroad: Health and Safety Guidelines" developed by the Interorganizational Task Force on Safety and Responsibility in Study Abroad.
