Fashion Styling

  Italy
  • Milan:
  • Milan

Term: Throughout the year

Description: In today's fashion business stylists are those professionals who can apply their unique taste in order to give shape to distinct, instantly recognizable looks.

Stylists play a key role during a photo shoot and/or a fashion show, defining concepts and moods that will have to be followed by all the other professionals committed to it: photographer, models, make-up artist and hair-stylist. As a result, stylists set the background, find the proper accessories and location, supervise fittings.

Stylists are also in charge of visual merchandising and/or collaborations with magazines to decide how to present hints and suggestions of upcoming seasons.

Styling has a strong impact on the success of a fashion collection as well; both in the creation of a collection and its presentation through fashion shows or advertising campaigns, stylists play a major and pivotal role.

A full awareness of the connections between change of taste, attitudes and the social/environmental evolution are basic elements in the trend research process and can make a strong inspirational source to design looks and meet the audience demands of today and tomorrow. Stylists are thus able to analyze the historical and cultural sides of today in order to give shape to tomorrow's fashion and style. With regards to this, stylists can support the work of companies wishing to invest in the research and development field. Uptodate's final goal is to train skilled market experts, people able to study and develop styles, discovering moods and providing the needed advice to create products strongly connected to the customer demands.
