The University of New Orleans has conducted its "Prague Summer Seminars" at Prague's prestigious Charles University for over 10 years, offering six hours of university credit in the arts, humanities and social sciences each summer. Extra-curricular activities include weekend trips to Vienna, Austria as well as Southern Moravia, a lecture series, class excursions, informal dinners and much more. Courses: - Contemporary Travel Narratives - Opera and Literature - Masterpieces of Music in the Czech Lands - The Architecture of Prague: A Survey - Prague Modernism in Architecture - A Pendulum of Power: Modern History of Eastern Europe - Digital Photography - Intermediate Photography - Czech Language
Highlights:
* Take the streetcar, every day, through the beauty of Prague: down castle hill, through the medieval Mala Strana district, along the Vltave river... * Enjoy a weekend trip to the city of Strauss, Freud, Klimt and Mozart - Vienna, Austria * Attend a lecture by two Czech artists who talk about "forbidden art" in the underground during the Communist Era Ride through the countryside of Southern Moravia and feast on a roast piglet and local wines. Take your learning experience beyond the classroom into Prague's streets, museums, parks, cellars, cafes and pubs.

We offer Summer study abroad programs for college students and adults; Semester and year exchange programs with a variety of universities around the world; IELP, an intensive non-credit program for non-native speakers of English; and CLP, a program of less-commonly taught languages using self-instructional methods and native-speaking tutors. The Division is also closely affiliated with the Center for Austrian Commerce and Culture, and the Council for International Visitors (CIV) of Greater New Orleans, a local non-profit volunteer organization affiliated with the USIA International Visitor Program.
