Description:
Spend three and a half weeks in the town where Shakespeare was born, studying the craft of acting with members of the Royal Shakespeare Company, perhaps the most famous classical acting company in the world, followed by four days in London. While in England, students will attend productions in Stratford, London, and Oxford; take acting, voice, fencing, and other classes; attend lectures, seminars, and workshops, and visit points of interest throughout England. Classes will take place in the Shakespeare Centre, overlooking the Shakespeare birthplace.
Highlights:
Acting classes with final performance,voice classes, a fencing workshop, a wigs and make-up demonstration, a private performance of Shakespeare's Sonnets by a Royal Shakespeare Company actor, seven shows and question and answer sessions, lectures and post-performance discussion on each play that participants attend, lectures on Shakespearian and theatrical subjects, backstage tours, play-readings at the Shakespeare Institute (you perform!), a film showing at the Shakespeare Centre, presentations of Shakespeare archives and collections, and two additional London shows.

Cost Include Description:
Program fee: Approximately $5,700 ($6,000 for non-KU students). The fee includes undergraduate tuition and fees, accommodations, breakfast, three dinners, entrance to 7 shows, excursions and site visits, KU orientation, and emergency medical evacuation and repatriation services. Additional costs: Airfare, passport and visa fees, books, most meals, and personal expenses. Graduate tuition will cost approximately an additional $260. All dates, costs, and program information are subject to change as necessary due to fluctuations in the exchange rate or other reasons.
