Málaga (pop. 600,000) is pleasantly nestled on the Mediterranean Sea and is considered to be the gateway to the Costa del Sol, one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. A port city and industrial center, Malaga is a tourist and business hub. It boasts some of the best fish and seafood cafes in the province. Málaga can boast of an exceptional climate year-round. Málaga has a rich history that began with the Phoenicians, who first settled in the city, followed by the Greeks, the Romans, the Visigoths, the Byzantines, and the Moors. Málaga was incorporated into the kingdom of Castille in 1487. Today, Málaga is a modern city, with an important commercial port, airport and university. Málaga is a bustling place that is full of life and has something to offer every visitor.
Highlights:
* Tuition: Includes all tuition at the Universidad de Malaga. All classes are taught by faculty from the host university. * Academic Credits: Please refer to the ISA website for detailed credit information. * Resident Director: ISA Resident Director is available to assist students with all aspects of their study abroad experience. * Tutoring: Students have the opportunity to receive up to 2 hours of language tutoring each weekday. * Excursions: Please see the ISA website for a complete list of excursions. Ground transportation and entrance fees are included on all excursions. Hotel accommodations and breakfast are included on all overnight excursions. * Homestay accommodations: Homestays include three meals per day (excluding ISA excursion days) and laundry service once per week. Students not wishing to live with a host family are welcome to set up their own housing arrangements. * On-site ISA office: The ISA office, conveniently located in the city, offers student computers with internet access, language resources, travel information, and more. * Airport Reception: Provided to and from the airport for students who arrive and/or depart during the specified times. * Medical Insurance: Medical insurance is provided for the official period of the program. Medical insurance extensions are available for an additional cost. * Cultural Activities: ISA Resident Directors will arrange cultural activities throughout the program.
