Description: Covering 0.5% of the world's land area, Central America contains 5% of all know biodiversity on the planet. The region is home to over 30 indigenous and ethnic communities with a cultural heritage rich in creativity and resistance. During this program you will experience life living with a family and studying Spanish in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala; studying liberation theology in San Salvador, El Salvador; and cultural conflict and diverse approaches to sustainable development in Managua, Nicaragua. These three countries have different histories, but throughout the semester you will witness the many common struggles shared by the diverse populations of these nations.

Sustainable Development and Social Change in Central America

Highlights: 5 weeks intensive language study/homestay in Guatemala, 4 weeks in El Salvador and 6 weeks in Nicaragua (homestay available).
