Description: At the village of Copan, just a fifteen-minute walk from the ruins of the magnificent Mayan city of Copan, a carpe diem spirit thrives among the context of empires past. Walking along the cobblestone streets, past the white adobe cottages and buildings capped with clay-tile roofs, one senses Copan Ruinas' underlying aura of timelessness. Because of Copan's location at mid-level altitude, the region bypasses the seething tropical heat of the coast and the bone-chilling winters of higher cities.

Program in Copan (included in tuition):

- 4 hours daily classes (20 hrs/week)
- Small group or individual instruction
- Private room with host family

- Many cultural activities, cooking and dance classes
