If you wish to study in London and focus on the history, literature, politics and culture of Britain, consider our London Semester Program. Arcadia's faculty will introduce you to your new home in a unique way, help it make sense, and expand your appreciation of why the history, literature, politics and culture of this small island on the edge of Europe have had such a pervasive influence on the world scene. Our Contemporary British Studies Courses use London as a teaching laboratory with numerous field trips and out-of-class work that takes full advantage of your location. In addition to our special Contemporary British Studies courses, you can choose classes from among the many courses offered at City University. City University, internationally known for its professional and business studies, offers top-quality courses in business and technology, social sciences, law, health, engineering, mathematics, and creative and cultural subjects. Additionally, students interested in the fine arts can choose from a range of courses at the London College of Fashion. The only one of its kind in the United Kingdom, this college offers courses in the areas of fashion and textile design, and photography. Credits Courses may be selected among various departments. You will earn the following hours of credit. * Fall semester: 16-18 credits. * Spring semester: 16-18 credits. * Academic year: 29-32 credits. Admission Requirements GPA Requirements: 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale. You must be in good academic standing and not on disciplinary probation. You need to submit a complete application including a transcript, letter of recommendation, and an advisor's form before your application will be considered.

Before you go, you can contact our program manager for advice on the application process, choosing courses, or simply what you should pack. Once you arrive, our resident director will lead an orientation program in London that will introduce you to the culture, history and politics of England as well as prepare you for the academic challenges of studying in a different educational system. During the semester, you can expect to participate in excursions that are designed to allow you to reflect on the learning that is taking place outside the classroom.
