Description: Abroadco's study abroad program in Granada allows students of all language levels to study Spanish language and culture at the University of Granada. You will live and go to school in the midst of Europe's finest artistic and cultural gems.

Academics

While earning up to 20 credits for semester sessions, and up to 5 credits for summer sessions, students studying Spanish language and culture can easily tailor Abroadco's Granada program to their interests and needs. Students, including complete beginners, who want to quickly increase their Spanish fluency can enroll in Abroadco's intensive Spanish program. Students who wish to increase the knowledge in specific areas can choose electives from such subject areas as literature, history, geography, art history, sociology, political science, economics, and cultural studies. And as a student of the University of Granada, you will receive an official, accredited transcript at the end of your studies, facilitating credit transfer to your home university.

Services

Abroadco's excellent student service begins the moment you contact us. We help you with every aspect of planning your trip, including course selection, travel planning, choosing your housing, working with your home university, and providing you with an orientation on all the aspects of living and studying abroad. When you arrive in Granada, our resident director will greet you at the airport, and provide the on site orientation during the first days of your stay. Throughout your program, you'll enjoy Abroadco's many activities and excursions. Activities include visiting Granada's Arab baths, seeing a Flamenco dance show, and enjoying Granada's many tapas restaurants. Excursions visit such destinations at Malaga, Seville, and Cordoba. Once your program has ended, we will continue to work with you as you transfer your credits to your home university and readjust to life at home.

Housing and Meals

Abroadco's housing options allow you to enjoy a full meal plan in your home. Students can choose to live in a university residence hall or in a Spanish homestay. Students can live in a single or double room, and receive meals in their home seven days a week.

Granada

Granada is a student's paradise. One fifth of the city's population attends the University, and its neighborhoods are home to countless restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops that cater to students. All of Southern Spain's renowned cuisine, nightlife, fashion and culture are easily accessible as Granada boasts Spain's lowest cost of living, while enjoying a very high quality of life.

Andalucia

Granada's home is the region of Andalucia, which offers endless destinations for daytrips and weekend getaways. Spain's most famous resort beaches lie a mere hour to the south, and excellent ski resorts populate the bordering Sierra Nevada Mountains. Any time of the year, Andalucia's diverse landscape offers activities to capture the spirit of student travelers, from horseback riding to kayaking, from hiking to snowboarding, from sunbathing to hang gliding.
