Abroadco's study abroad program in Florence allows students to study Italian language at all levels, Italian culture and studio arts taught in English at the Santa Reparata International School of Art. You will live and study in Florence, the cradle of the Italian Renaissance and home to some of the finest culture and art in the world. Academics Students may select one of three study options, earning 14-16 credits for semester sessions and 6 credits for summer sessions. The three options are Language and Culture, Italian Culture, and Studio Art. All semester students have the option of taking at least one studio art class as part of their program. All courses are taught in English. Transcripts are issued by Columbia College Chicago, a fully accredited university in the U.S. Services Abroadco's excellent student service begins the moment you contact us. We help you with every aspect of planning your experience, including course selection, travel planning, working with your home institution, and providing you with an orientation on living and studying abroad. When you arrive in Florence, our resident director will greet you at the airport and provide onsite orientation during the first few days of your stay. Throughout your program, you'll enjoy Abroadco's many activities and excursions. Activities include going to an opera or ballet, visiting the Uffizi Gallery, and enjoying traditional Florentine cuisine. Excursions visit such destinations as Rome, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Cortona and Arezzo. Once your program has ended, we will continue to work with you as you transfer your credits to your home institution and readjust to life at home. Housing and Meals Abroadco apartments in Florence are centrally located within easy distance to school, shops, and attractions. Apartments are equipped with fully-equipped kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, and communal living space. Students may cook for themselves at home or eat at the many trattorias and pizzerias around the city. Florence The city's significant history and culture transform Florence into an open air classroom. The historic center of Florence has an intimate small-town quality, while the city offers many of the amenities of a cosmopolitan city. Tuscany The rolling hills of Tuscany are home to Florence and may other towns and places of historic importance. Take part in one of the many festivals that abound in this region or explore the hill towns by bicycle as you explore one of the most culturally dense areas of Europe.

Scholarships are Available. - Abroadco has established a scholarship program for deserving Abroadco participants. Awards for a program typically range from $300 to $600, depending on the length of the program. To be eligible for an Abroadco Scholarship, students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, be accepted into an Abroadco program and enrolled as an undergraduate university student. The scholarship application consists of the application, an essay, and an official transcript. Scholarship deadlines for Fall - April 1, for Spring ヨ October 1, and for Summer ヨ February 1.
In addition to scholarships, students from many U.S. academic institutions are allowed to transfer their financial aid when studying abroad. Abroadco will work with students and academic institutions to facilitate this process.
