Abroadco's study abroad program in Paris allows students to study French at all language levels at the University of Paris IV (Sorbonne), as well as select electives at the Sorbonne, American University of Paris. You will live and study in the City of Light, the center of European art and culture. Academics Students have a variety of academic options in Paris with Abroadco. Students wanting to study intensive French at all levels will take courses at the Sorbonne. Academic year and semester students who place at the intermediate and advanced levels can also take electives taught in French. If you need a course or two in English, you can opt to take an up to two electives at the American University of Paris (AUP). In addition to academic year and semester sessions, you can opt for summer sessions both at the Sorbonne and AUP. We help you with every aspect of planning your experience, including course selection, travel planning, working with your home institution, and providing you with an orientation on living and studying abroad. When you arrive in Paris, our resident director will greet you at the airport and provide onsite orientation during the first few days of your stay. Throughout your program, youll enjoy Abroadcos many activities and excursions. Activities include visiting the museums, exploring the different arrondissements of the city, and sampling the famous Parisian cuisine at one of Paris many bistros, restaurants, and cafes. Excursions visit such destinations as Versailles, Giverny and Mont St. Michel. Once your program has ended, we will continue to work with you as you transfer your credits to your home institution and readjust to life at home. Scholarships are Available. Abroadco has established a scholarship program for deserving Abroadco participants. Awards for a program typically range from USD 300 to 600, depending on the length of the program. To be eligible for an Abroadco Scholarship, students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, be accepted into an Abroadco program and enrolled as an undergraduate university student. The scholarship application consists of the application, an essay, and an official transcript. Scholarship deadlines for Fall - April 1, for Spring - October 1, and for Summer - February 1.
In addition to scholarships, students from many U.S. academic institutions are allowed to transfer their financial aid when studying abroad. Abroadco will work with students and academic institutions to facilitate this process.
