Description: The experience of studying at the University of Sydney can best be characterized by its buildings and campuses. Ivy-covered sandstone buildings that reflect Australia's colonial heritage combined with modern architecture that reflects the countries high tech and multicultural future all located on the fringe of Sydney's Central Business District paint a picture of a vibrant and historic institution.

The courses available represent this same mix of traditional and modern. Cutting edge research in the natural sciences, classics, history, and Australian Studies are just a few of the options available to you. A Conservatorium of Music and School of Art add to the comprehensive nature of the institution which enrolls more than 40,000 students. Because of the size and location of the University, on-campus accommodation is at a premium. You can apply to live in residential colleges, but most students choose to live in Arcadia housing in student-oriented neighborhoods which surround the university.
