Description:
This program emphasizes courses and internships in international travel and tourism, hospitality and hotel management, recreation and entertainment, and food and beverage management. It offers a unique opportunity to learn about tourism and hospitality in a uniquely multinational setting.
Highlights:
Host Institution: Mahidol University is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Thailand, and also the oldest. Founded in 1890, it has since evolved into a multi-disciplinary university -- recognized for its outstanding achievements in teaching, research and professional services. There are 12,000 undergraduate students enrolled (including 1,800 at MU's International College) where the KEI program takes place, and 6,200 graduate students. Mahidol collaborates with numerous universities from around the world, as well as many international organizations. Students from 45 different countries are currently enrolled in various programs at the university. Curriculum: Courses are supplemented with professional visits and internships at local travel/tourism companies and hotels. The cultural component includes organized cultural activities and field trips in Thailand and regionally. Students can earn up to 16 college and graduate credits per term Living: Students live in dorms, located near the Salaya campus, 12 miles from downtown Bangkok. Excursions: The program includes excursions in Bangkok and throughout northern Thailand, including border towns of Myanmar and Laos. Academic year students also have the option of visiting the southern coast of Thailand or Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Cost Include Description:
KEI programs in Thailand include college and/or graduate credit, internship placement and supervision, accommodations, comprehensive medical/travel insurance, On-Site Coordinator, orientation, airport welcome and transfer, mobile phone and access to Internet, and cultural excursions in Bangkok and Thailand.
