Description: The Environmental Science & Ecological Studies Program at Mahidol University International College (MUIC) emphasizes courses and research in zoology, botany, ecology, aquatic biology, environment, conservation, biodiversity, wildlife management, biosynthesis, plant science, forestry and related disciplines. Courses in liberal arts, SE Asian studies and other academic disciplines are also offered. Courses and research are conducted in ENGLISH. The cultural component includes organized activities and field trips in Bangkok and northern Thailand. Graduate and undergraduate courses available. The program is based 12 miles from central Bangkok in a beautiful suburban campus (520 acres), and hosted by Mahidol University's International College (MUIC).

Highlights:
Host Institution: Mahidol University is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Thailand, and also the oldest. Founded in 1890, it has since evolved into a multi-disciplinary university -- recognized for its outstanding achievements in teaching, research and professional services. There are 12,000 undergraduate students enrolled (including 1,800 at MU's International College) where the KEI program takes place, and 6,200 graduate students. Mahidol collaborates with numerous universities from around the world, as well as many international organizations. Students from 45 different countries are currently enrolled in various programs at the university.

Curriculum: This program focuses on environmental studies, and offers a wide selection of courses and research in botany, geology, meteorology, zoology, ecology, aquatic biology, environment, conservation, biodiversity, wildlife management, biosynthesis, plant science, forestry, and related disciplines. Courses are supplemented with professional visits and internships at local businesses, law firms and NGOs. The cultural component includes organized cultural activities and field trips in Thailand and regionally. Students can earn up to 16 college and graduate credits per term

Living: Students live in dorms, located near the Salaya campus, 12 miles from downtown Bangkok.

Excursions: The program includes excursions in Bangkok and throughout northern Thailand, including border towns of Myanmar and Laos. Academic year students also have the option of visiting the southern coast of Thailand or Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Cost in US$: $7,300 per quarter; $20,900 per year; $4,380 summer session I or II; $6,300 summer session I & II
