Description: An educational center for those with a passion for French language and culture, art historians, students, and all who know that experience in another culture is essential for their future. Substantive integration in the local community and culture for every student results in broadened awareness and long-held memories.

Academic focus: French language and literature, archeology, art, art history, business administration or management, international affairs, liberal studies, visual and performing arts. Students may audit or take a course for credit at the local French university. Credit internships are also available for a select number of students. This internship is custom tailored, taking into account the interested student's academic background as well as career aspirations.

Highlights: The Centre d'Avignon is housed in the renovated 13th century Chapelle St. Antoine, in the heart of the bustling city of Avignon, near the Papal Palace. Students live with French hosts and are provided with 7 breakfasts and 6 dinners per week. Excursions are generally accompanied by an art historian and examples of previous excursions include trips to Marseille and the islands, boat rides in Cassis and les calanques, visiting a château in Les Baux de Provence, following Van Goghs footsteps in Arles, as well as trips to Roussillon, Gordes and Sénanque.
