Study New Zealand - University of Auckland
New Zealand
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring
Dates: See website.
Description:
With enrollment of over 27,000 students, including more than 1,000 international students from 60 different countries, the University of Auckland is New Zealand's largest university. The 55-acre city campus of the University of Auckland is set in park-like grounds a mere 5 minutes walk from downtown Auckland, a bustling, cosmopolitan port city of 1.2 million. Historic Albert Park on its western flank separates the campus from the tower blocks of Auckland's central business district. To the southeast lie the trees and open spaces of the Auckland Domain (gardens). Proximity to the cultural and commercial amenities of New Zealand's largest city, the attractive green setting and harbor views bestow advantages seldom enjoyed by inner city campuses.
Highlights:
The Study Australia program includes a 5-day group orientation (for most of our sites), guaranteed, fully furnished AND prearranged housing for your entire stay and much more. The University of Auckland was established in 1883 and has grown into an international center of learning and academic excellence. Teaching and research is conducted in seven faculties on three campuses. These include Architecture, Property, Planning and Fine Arts, Arts, Business and Economics, Engineering, Law, Medical and Health Sciences, and Science. In addition, more than 30 interdisciplinary research clusters exist within the University, ranging from small units to large institutes, conducting research in emerging fields that cross knowledge boundaries. The University enjoys international status as the only New Zealand University invited to join Universitas 21 and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities. Membership of both groups is by invitation and limited to research-led institutions of international reputation across a broad spectrum of disciplines.
