Artists on the Move - Artist Workshops
Greece
Term: Fall, Spring, Summer
Description:
Enjoy painting and drawing classes with Artists on the Move on the beautiful island of Paros, Greece. Art classes are designed to study practical elements of painting and drawing such as color theory and composition while helping students to develop a personal approach and expression. The art workshops are open to all levels of experience and are customized to fit individual needs and abilities. Students may choose to paint in oil, acrylic or watercolor. Printmaking is also taught and employed as an expansion on the painting and drawing process. The workshops with Artists on the Move are held for seven days with students working mostly in the morning hours, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. daily.
Highlights:
Students paint and draw in open settings, surrounded by stunning views of the Aegean Sea or nestled in the little streets of the old towns of Paroikia, Naoussa and Lefkes. During printmaking and other work sessions, students spend time in and around the studio that is located in a peaceful and private setting. In order to enhance the artistic journey, visits are scheduled to museums, cultural and artistic events throughout the week. Paros is an artist's island boasting wonderful museums and galleries that feature both archaic treasures and contemporary local artists. As a group we also visit the Church of 100 Doors, the earliest remaining Byzantine church in Greece, and its adjacent Baptistery built from the 4th to the 6th centuries. Artists on the Move offers a unique experience where physical relaxation and enjoyment of the senses work side by side with artistic expression and learning.
