Description:
A five-week program designed for students with at least one year of university-level Spanish. It is based at the University of Oviedo and is comprised of coursework in Spanish language, literature and film. Courses are taught by native Spanish professors and faculty from Temple University. Oviedo, with a population of 220,000, is the capital of Asturias and a gateway for great scenery, skiing and beaches. While the city has an impressive old-town center, museums and significant historic architectural sites, it is also a modern city featuring concerts, opera, theater, and exhibitions.
Highlights:
Students will spend the first several days in and around Madrid before traveling to Oviedo to begin classes. Students will have the option of living with host families.

2009 Undergraduate Tuition (6 credits): PA Resident 2520 USD Non-resident 4242 USD Estimated Spain Fee: 1650 USDThe Spain Fee includes housing in a university residence or with a family in Oviedo, all meals in Madrid (except for lunch on arrival day), housing and excursions during the orientation week in Madrid, and travel from Madrid to Oviedo. For students in homestays, the fee also includes three meals a day; for students living in the university residence, the fee includes two meals a day. Please note that program costs are estimates and will be updated.
