Studio Art Centers International - Late Spring/Sum
Italy
Term: Summer
Dates: May-June (5 Weeks)/ June-July (4 weeks)
Description:
Studio Art Centers International (SACI) is recognized as one of the leading overseas institutions in the areas of studio art, design, architecture, art history, art conservation and Italian language and cultural studies. SACI was founded in 1975 to create a complete program in Florence, Italy for students seeking excellence in studio art and liberal arts instruction at the United States university level; courses are offered in 40 different Studio and Academic disciplines at all skill levels. SACI is housed in a 17th Century landmark building, the Palazzo dei Cartelloni, which has retained its Baroque magnificence while facilitating contemporary art studies. Other SACI facilities in the heart of Florence include: the Design Center, Graduate Center, Art Crafts Center, Conservation Chapel and Fresco Studios. If you are seeking a creative, challenging, and rewarding Italian study program, SACI is the right choice for you.
Highlights:
The intensity of a summer program abroad at SACI has helped many students find their individual paths and enrich their creative futures. SACI provides two summer study sessions: the late spring term from mid-May through June and the summer term from late June-July. These short terms are well suited for students who are unable to study abroad during the regular academic year and for independent students of varying ages and experiences who are interested in creatively exploring art and cultural studies in Florence. In addition, courses in studio art, design, architecture, art history and art conservation make use of field trips to artists' studios, private collections, galleries, art fairs, professional designers' studios, and manufacturers of Italian design products. The summer season in Florence offers a remarkable range of cultural and popular events and activities that further enhance the SACI experience. SACI is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
