Located in the heart of Florence is the site for CIS's program, the Institute at Palazzo Rucellai, a non-profit organization committed to providing quality international educational opportunities firmly rooted in the American liberal arts tradition. The Institute occupies two floors in one of the most prestigious historical residences in Florence and it has been restored and renovated to provide a magnificent setting for both academic and artistic pursuits. All courses are designed to integrate the local resources and immerse students into the Florentine environment through on-site learning. A variety of co-curricular activities including field trips, museum visits, academic tours, and artistic performances complement the rich cultural offerings. The faculty who teach at Palazzo Rucelli hail from Italy , the European Union and the United States and most hold doctoral degrees.

*Summer in Italy! *Excursions throughout Florence *Earn U.S. university credit *Taught in English (except for select language/culture courses) *Cultural and recreational activities During the five week summer session students can study up to six credits (two subjects) in language and culture, humanities, fine arts or art history. All courses are taught in English except for Italian language subjects. Participants will be issued an official US university transcript from Roger Williams University at the program's completion. Because the program takes place in the heart of Florence , courses seek to maximize the opportunities offered by this unique urban setting by incorporating field trips, museum visits, and attendance at performances.
