Enforex Spanish Schools - Santiago de Cuba (Cuba)
Cuba
Term: Throughout the year
Dates: Please visit our website for dates.
Description:
Founded in 1989, Enforex is the largest organization in Spain & Latin America specialized in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. The Spanish school Santiago de Cuba is an alternative setting: we do not have a central building. Instead, classes are held either in a cultural center, the teacher's home, or at the house of a host family. This guarantees you small learning groups in a comfortable, personalized environment. Although the physical space for classes is less structured than other schools, you can still count on a highly organized program. The teachers are all qualified to teach Spanish with years of experience. All homes and Spanish classes are located in the "Reparto Sueño" neighborhood, a safe, hospitable area. The following Spanish courses are available in Santiago de Cuba: * Intensive Group Course (20 lessons per week) * Super Intensive Group Course (30 lessons per week) * Private Spanish Lessons (20 lessons per week) * Cuban Dance + Spanish (+5 lessons per week) * Cuban Music + Spanish (+5 lessons per week) Minimum student age: 18 years old
Highlights:
With 420,000 inhabitants, Santiago de Cuba is the country's second largest city and Havana's long-time rival in literature, music and politics. Known as the 'most Caribbean' of Cuban cities, its residents of Haitian, African, Spanish and French descent are bound by their widespread reputation as happy, hospitable, laid back people. Located on the southeast end of the island, Santiago maintains a Spanish colonial feel without the imposition of 1950s American high-rises typical to Havana. You can enjoy beautiful beaches year-round and stroll through the large, natural harbour that has made Santiago an important port city for almost five centuries. Santiago de Cuba a cheerful and beautiful setting to learn Spanish... discover it for yourself! Cuba Cultural Activities Our Spanish schools in Havana, Santiago de Cuba and Trinidad organize activities in the same fashion. Students also gather at a meeting point every night at 8:30pm. Here they decide if they want to go out, and where they want to go, etc. Alternatively, they may choose to stay where they are to socialize and play a game of domino. Some of the most common activities are: * A guided tour of the city (Havana, Santiago de Cuba or Trinidad) * Swimming pool * Beach trips * Party night at a teacher's home * Dance & music classes * Santeria (you can witness Santeria or consult with Santeria priests) Cuba Weekend Excursions Every Thursday at 8:30pm, students gather at a meeting point to make plans for the weekend. Students that want to go on the same excursion can travel together and consequently reduce transportation costs. Taxis are usually the best method of transportation for excursions around Cuba. The most popular excursions are: * The cities of Trinidad, Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Varadero, Viñales, Pinar del Río... * Horseback riding * Snorkeling * Boating excursion Prices average about 25 USD for day trips and 50 USD for weekend trips.
