Highlights:
Heredia, surrounded by towering volcanoes, is a popular destination for students who want to escape metropolitan life and get to know Costa Rican culture by living in a typical 'Tico' town. At the same time, the larger cities of Alajuela and San José, the country's capital, are just a short ride away, so there's always the opportunity to visit museums, go to the movies, see a play or eat out at any number of delicious restaurants. If you want access to big city life while enjoying the comforts of a small town, Heredia is a great place to study Spanish. Costa Rica Cultural Activities Cultural activities take place in the library 2-3 times per week, and once a month we invite you to celebrate "cultural week" with special events. Some activities are free, but the average price for an afternoon excursion is $30. The most common activities are: * Latin dance classes (salsa, merengue and cumbia) * Trips to local beaches * Literature or handicrafts workshops Costa Rica Excursions Our Spanish schools in Flamingo Beach, Monteverde and Heredia, Costa Rica offer excursions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and weekends.
