AustraLearn and CQUniversity
Australia
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring
Dates: February and/or July
Description:
CQUniversity (CQU) is uniquely placed to provide students with a wonderful opportunity to extend their horizons. CQU's campus, set amongst 450 acres of native bushland, is situated in Rockhampton, close to the Great Barrier Reef. This location, combined with an academic program at a dynamic, growing University, promises a memorable experience. CQU places a strong emphasis on quality teaching in a caring environment. Rockhampton, with a population of 70,000, is situated on the Tropic of Capricorn, just 22 miles inland from the Capricorn Coast, which allows easy access to Great Keppel Island and the Great Barrier Reef. West of Rockhampton lie significant parts of Australia's heritage such as outback cattle and sheep stations, national parks (including Aboriginal rock art areas), vast open-cut and underground coal mineas and gem fields. We recognize that your study experience is a great adventure both socially and academically. We have many courses on offer across faculties to construct a study program that will be both interesting and educational.
Highlights:
The tropical climate makes Rockhampton and its surrounding area ideal for outdoor pursuits such as bushwalking, camping, horse riding, swimming, scuba diving, wind surfing, sailing and snorkeling. Weekends find students learning to Scuba Dive, visiting the Dreamtime Aboriginal Cultural Center, adventure caving, overnight horseback ride spending the night under the stars or just lazing by the beach. CQU International staff are happy to assist with planning any activities students wish to experience during their stay. Enjoy a fun holiday weekend in the Whitsunday Islands complimentary with your AustraLearn study abroad program at CQU. Spend 3 days and 2 nights on board a sailing vessel cruising the area and snorkeling through the famous waters of the Whitsunday Islands. All food and bedding included on the boat and scuba diving equipment can be rented. What a great addition to your favorite program at CQUniversity!
