Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world. The IES Berlin Summer Program, organized in cooperation with Brandeis University, is designed for students who seek intensive academic exposure to the country's political and social history with a focus on Jewish Studies and German art and architecture of the past century. Field study plays a central role in the IES Berlin Summer program. By combining coursework with study outside the classroom, students have the opportunity to discover the rich heritage and contemporary culture of Germany through walking tours of the city's significant artistic, architectural and political markers.
