Description:
During the one-month program in July, students take Business in Contemporary China (3 credits, taught in English) and Beginning Survival Chinese (3 credits) at Shanghai University. Students study at the Yanchang or New campus, not far from the heart of Shanghai. In addition to on-campus recreational facilities, students may also take excursions with faculty to sites such as the Yu Yuan Garden, the Jade Buddha Temple, or to a Chinese or Joint Venture enterprise. Students can also take out-of-town trips on their own to visit gardens and temples in places like Suzhou and Hangzhou. Students share air-conditioned dorm suites with private baths on the New campus or have private dorm rooms and baths on the Yanchang campus. There is also a weekend option to stay with a Chinese family.
